Chief Executive Officer
William Knott joined CFG Community Bank as chief executive officer in June 2016. At CFG Community Bank, Mr. Knott will work to grow and strengthen the bank as well as seek out new lending and investment opportunities.
Mr. Knott brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial and banking markets to his position, most recently serving as director of global national industries in the Eastern Untied States for Citibank.
Prior to that he was a managing director for Ashbridge Investments and an executive vice president and regional president of Wachovia Bank, N.A. He spent a decade of his career at Mellon Bank, N.A., serving as senior vice president of middle market lending.
He is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, where he went on to receive his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. He has also completed the Executive Leadership certificate program at The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Mr. Knott, who has been married for 36 years and has two adult children, has also been involved in a number of civic endeavors including serving on the boards for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 20 years. He has also previously served on boards for GBMC, Kennedy Krieger, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves on the board of the investment company Drexel Morgan Capital Advisers in Radnor, Pa.
